Ready Hands Request 2019 – 2020

The Junior League of Houston, Inc.’s Ready Hands (formerly known as Done In A Day) project enables the League to assist community agencies which do not have a need for League volunteers on an ongoing basis, but may have a need to staff a one or two day special event or have a one-time need for extra volunteers.

All volunteer requests must be for community-based, hands-on opportunities. These projects cannot involve fundraising or be administrative (envelope stuffing, labeling, office work) in nature. Additionally, volunteers cannot handle or serve alcoholic beverages.

  • The League requests that six-weeks advance notice of an event be given in order to allow the League to obtain the necessary League approvals.
  • The League cannot guarantee volunteers. Requests for volunteers primarily in the evenings or on weekends have a higher likelihood of being fulfilled, given the current makeup and availability of the Junior League membership.
  • If volunteers choose to sign up for your event through Ready Hands, the chairman will let you know within two weeks of the event.
  • All volunteer requests must be approved by the project chairman and the Community Impact Director- Neighborhood Outreach.
